During a poker hand, the dealer shuffles the cards and then deals them to the players one at a time. Each player must put in an amount of chips into the pot equal to or higher than the bet made by the player to their right. Alternatively, they may decide to “drop” (fold), meaning that they won’t bet and will not contribute to the next betting round.
